I AM A ......... UK WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER

WHO

I am a UK Wildlife Photographer through and through. And I can’t think of a better way to explain it than through William Shakespeare when he said “One Touch of Nature makes the Whole World Kin” This quote sums up my passion for wildlife photography.

It is both simple and succinct. It’s why I love wildlife photography so much. It allows me the opportunity to share with you why I feel the natural world is so important. To bring nature closer to home. To connect with it and perhaps more importantly to help us connect with each other.

I’m a self confessed wildlife and nature addict – with a touch of donkey thrown in for good measure!.

Having studied Countryside Management for three years,  I went on to achieve a postgraduate in Environmental Management from London University.

I spent 12 years as a Countryside Ranger before moving into the charity sector.

These days I support the Lorica Trust,  a 120 acre farm in the heart of the South Downs National Park. They don’t farm animals and crops, but work with disadvantaged people.

Through land based activities they help re build self confidence and self esteem, I bring my passion for photography and love watching the young people engage and grow whilst capturing some stunning images  .

But most importantly, together,  we help people to develop a sense of connection and belonging.

WHERE & WHAT

All my wildlife images are UK based, focusing (if you’ll excuse the pun!) primarily within West Sussex, Pembrokeshire and Devon.

My favourite places are Knepp Castle Estate, Dale and Seaton Wetlands, although Dartmoor does come a very close fourth!

East Clayton Farm

As a UK wildlife photographer I love capturing the beauty of the natural world.

This drives me to spend endless hours walking, sitting or camping out in hides. Often with a trusty dog or two at my side.

I relish the company of  guests who accompany me on my UK wildlife photography workshops, walk arounds and hideouts.

My work has been recognised in a number of photography competitions.

I have contributed to magazine articles, including Sussex Life, Creative Light and Amateur Photographer.

You can read more about recent awards and publications here.

I shoot my images using a large suite of professional Nikon Digital SLR cameras and lenses.

In addition I am a member of Nikon Professional Services and a qualified professional member of The Guild of Photographers.
